What would you pay for the data you expect to use?

This example assumes 10 GB used during seven days in Italy. It compares NXTL's full starter purchase with Holafly's seven-day unlimited offer. The products provide different allowances; the point is the cost for this stated usage.

Scenario 1

Seven days in Italy · 10 GB actual usage

Pay-as-you-go
What you buy Global eSIM + $10.00 prepaid balance
Upfront payment $11.99
Data cost basis Charges for measured usage
Estimated data charge $7.90 estimated usage
At the end of the trip Approx. $2.10 prepaid balance remains
You pay for the 10 GB you use; leftover prepaid balance never expires.
Holafly Unlimited
What you buy Italy Unlimited · 7 days
Upfront payment $23.90
Data cost basis Unlimited plan for 7 days, subject to FUP
Plan allowance Unlimited data · hotspot 1 GB/day
At the end of the trip 7-day unlimited validity used
Unlimited 7-day plan. Hotspot 1 GB/day. Local-network FUP can reduce speed.
$11.91 less upfront with NXTL for this usage example, plus prepaid balance left for later.

NXTL is not an unlimited-data package: using more data uses more prepaid balance. Holafly's selected offer includes unlimited total data for seven days, but local-network fair-use conditions can affect speed and hotspot sharing is limited to 1 GB per day. The example compares the cost of 10 GB of actual use, not identical product allowances. NXTL estimates use Vodafone's listed Italy rate. Cheapest preference prioritises the lowest-priced available supported network; the network actually used determines your charge. Examples exclude free trials, promotions, usage discounts and reward redemptions for both providers. Primary figures use Holafly’s English Italy page USD price table. The Italian locale listed a lower euro amount for the same duration. Competitor prices and exchange rates can change.

Prices and calculation

Holafly prices checked 10 September 2026 from the official source listed below. NXTL data estimates use Vodafone at $0.7898 per GB. Neither Tokens nor usage discounts have been deducted from the amounts above.

NXTL amounts use the live site currency service (EUR rate to USD 1.16160200, recorded 2026-09-10 17:05:05 UTC). Converted competitor amounts are equivalents; the original checkout currency is unchanged in the source note. Provider checkout currencies may use different rates.

Core Comparison Dimensions
Feature comparison between NXTL and Holafly
What matters
Data model Measured usage at the connected network's rate Unlimited total data for the purchased days
High-speed policy No NXTL daily high-speed allowance or post-threshold slow tier; usage remains metered Unlimited total data, but Holafly says a local operator may temporarily reduce speed after high usage; no universal Italy threshold or reduced speed is published
Hotspot sharing Uses the NXTL data connection where the device and connected network support tethering; no separate NXTL 1 GB/day hotspot allowance Italy plan publishes 1 GB/day available for hotspot sharing
Unused prepaid value Account balance never expires Main plan has a defined duration
After the main trip Remaining balance available in supported destinations Eligible Always On benefit supplies 1 GB each 30 days in supported destinations; unused allowance does not roll over
Another supported destination Same NXTL eSIM and account balance at destination rates Purchased coverage and separate Always On coverage apply

With NXTL, remaining prepaid balance is money available for future data—not a monthly allowance you need to use before it resets.

MORE VALUE FOR YOUR NEXT CONNECTION

Turn the habit of topping up into value for later.

NXTL's rewards are built around the reason you're here: staying connected. Earn Tokens on eligible purchases, redeem them into prepaid balance, and unlock usage discounts as your eligible usage grows.

Purchase Rewards

5% back in reward value

Eligible paid purchases earn 5% of their value in NXTL Tokens. Redeem earned Tokens into prepaid data balance.

5% In Tokens on eligible paid purchases
Usage Discounts

Up to 10% off eligible usage

Your usage level can reduce eligible data charges by 4%, 7% or 10%. It is based on eligible usage over a rolling 30 days, and an earned higher level is held for at least 30 days.

4% – 10% Discount tiers based on 30-day usage

More of what you spend can support your next journey—not just the one you're booking today.

Purchase rewards and usage discounts are separate benefits. Eligibility and redemption rules apply.

FLEXIBILITY WHERE IT COUNTS

A clear budget for the way you actually travel.

01

Data between real-life moments.

Maps, messages and booking confirmations all draw from your balance. When you use less mobile data, less balance is spent.

02

A budget you can manage.

Check your usage and set daily, weekly or monthly account limits, or manage limits per eSIM.

03

Rates you can look up.

See supported networks and prices before the trip. Cheapest preference prioritises the lowest-priced available supported network; the actual network determines the charge.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Planning beyond the first trip?

Is NXTL an unlimited-data eSIM?

No. NXTL is pay-as-you-go: data usage is charged against your prepaid balance at the applicable network rate. Add balance when needed. The benefit is paying for actual usage and retaining balance you haven't spent.

Does Holafly include data after the main plan ends?

Eligible Holafly eSIMs include Always On: 1 GB every 30 days in supported destinations, without unused-data rollover. That is a separate backup allowance. NXTL instead keeps your remaining prepaid balance available without an expiry date.

Can Holafly reduce speed on an unlimited Italy plan?

Yes. Holafly says a local network operator may temporarily reduce speed under a Fair Usage Policy after high usage. Holafly does not publish one universal Italy threshold or reduced speed, and says a restriction can last no more than one day. Its Italy hotspot allowance is 1 GB per day. NXTL instead meters usage and applies no NXTL daily FUP or post-threshold slow tier.

What if I use more than 10 GB in the example?

Your NXTL data charge rises with actual usage. You may need to add balance once the included amount is no longer enough. Check the published rates and estimate your own needs on the Data Pricing page.
