Make it work for your trip
- Check the networks and rates listed for your destination.
- Use Cheapest as your starting preference.
- If the connection is not suitable, review other available partners and their rates.
Consider Best coverage.
Moving between towns, working away from your hotel or finding your current connection unhelpful? Best coverage allows a broader choice of supported partners. It gives the eSIM more network options—not a promise of a signal everywhere.

- Check which partner networks are listed where you are going.
- Review their rates before broadening your preference.
- Give the change time to apply; reconnect if needed.
Use manual network selection.
Want to try a named operator from the pricing table? That is a setting on your device, rather than a third NXTL preference. The operator must be supported and available where you are, and its published rate applies.
Make it work for your trip
- Find the operator and its rate on Data Pricing.
- Follow the device steps to select the network manually.
- If it will not connect, return to automatic selection or try another available supported partner.
Change the preference. Keep the eSIM.
You do not need a new country bundle or a fresh installation to change this choice. Set it for the eSIM you want to use.

Open the right eSIM.
Sign in to My Account and open My eSIMs. Find the eSIM you want to change. In the NXTL app, open that eSIM’s details.

Choose your preference.
In My Account, look for Network tier. In the app, look for Network preference. Choose Cheapest or Best coverage.

Apply the change.
In My Account, press Apply. In the app, select the preference and wait for confirmation. Check any message shown instead of assuming the change has already reached your device.

Let the device reconnect.
The change may take time to reach your device. If needed, briefly turn airplane mode on and off to reconnect. Keep the eSIM installed; deleting it is not part of changing preference.
Managing several eSIMs? Set each one separately. The preference belongs to the individual eSIM, even when those eSIMs share an account balance.
Choose your network. Set your spending limit.
Cheapest helps prioritise lower-cost networks. Usage limits are a separate way to control data spending—across your account or on a particular eSIM.
Across your account
In Profile, set an Account usage limit for combined data spending across your eSIMs. Choose a daily, weekly or monthly period.
On an individual eSIM
In My eSIMs, open that eSIM’s Usage limit settings. Choose its own spending amount and daily, weekly or monthly period.
Before you change the setting.
I changed preference, but the network name stayed the same. Is that wrong?
Not necessarily. A preference guides network selection; it does not force a different operator on every change. Available networks, your device and the current connection all matter. Check the confirmation in your account or app and allow time for the change to apply. Reconnect if needed.
Is Cheapest a limit on what I can spend?
No. Cheapest is a network preference, not a spending limit. To control data spending separately, set a daily, weekly or monthly Account usage limit in Profile, or a Usage limit on an individual eSIM in My eSIMs. You can use both. The data rate still depends on the network you actually use.
Does Best coverage mean I am always paying more?
No. It allows a broader choice of supported networks; the charge still depends on the one you use. Some available operators may cost more than the lowest-priced partner. Check the country’s network rates so you understand the options.
