Lower rates were only the beginning.
NXTL started with one practical idea: keep a global pay-as-you-go balance, use mobile data when you need it, and do not lose unused value because a travel bundle expired.
Customers told us that idea was worth keeping—but the experience around it needed to become easier, clearer and more rewarding. You wanted better prices, proper mobile apps, clearer network choices, more useful alerts, stronger account controls and rewards that return real service value.
We listened.
NXTL now combines lower country and network rates, automatic usage discounts, NXTL Rewards, new iPhone and Android apps, improved account controls and more ways to use one reusable balance—not only while travelling, but also for everyday backup connectivity and compatible connected devices.
Your balance may be the same. What it can do is not.
What changed at NXTL?
Here is the short version:
- Lower pay-as-you-go prices across popular destinations and networks.
- Automatic 4%, 7% or 10% eligible-data discounts as eligible rolling 30-day usage grows.
- NXTL Rewards with Tokens, challenges, badges and a monthly leaderboard.
- New iPhone and Android apps for balance, eSIMs, pricing, coverage, alerts and Rewards.
- Cheapest or Best coverage control depending on whether price or reach matters most.
- Automatic top-up and usage limits for better control.
- One pooled balance for multiple NXTL eSIMs under the same account.
- A stronger everyday backup option for phones, tablets, hotspots and compatible connected devices.
New rates: your balance now buys more connection
NXTL charges for the data you actually use. You do not need to pre-buy 5 GB, 10 GB or 20 GB to reach a useful rate.
If you use 1.4 GB, NXTL charges 1.4 GB. The other 3.6 GB was never purchased, so there is nothing left behind to expire.
That difference matters. At current lowest base rates, NXTL can cost less than the entry price of many fixed travel bundles—even before automatic usage-tier discounts are applied.
The following examples use the current lowest listed network rate for each destination.
| Destination | Current lowest rate |
|---|---|
| Turkey | €0.48/GB |
| United Kingdom | €0.65/GB |
| France | €0.67/GB |
| Germany, Italy and Spain | €0.68/GB |
| Malaysia | €0.87/GB |
| Indonesia | €0.92/GB |
| Vietnam | €0.97/GB |
| Thailand | €0.99/GB |
| United States | €1.00/GB |
| Australia | €1.18/GB |
| Philippines | €1.65/GB |
| Canada | €2.03/GB |
| South Africa | €2.04/GB |
| Brazil | €2.17/GB |
| South Korea | €2.23/GB |
| Saudi Arabia | €2.32/GB |
| Japan | €2.61/GB |
| Mexico | €3.04/GB |
| United Arab Emirates | €4.62/GB |
What can €10 buy at current lowest base rates?
- about 15.3 GB in the United Kingdom;
- about 15.0 GB in France;
- about 10.1 GB in Thailand;
- about 10.0 GB in the United States;
- about 6.1 GB in the Philippines;
- about 3.8 GB in Japan.

Automatic usage discounts: use more, unlock a better eligible-data price
NXTL checks eligible usage over the most recent 30 days. When eligible usage reaches a tier threshold, the matching eligible-data discount activates automatically.
No coupon. No application. No support request.
| Level | Eligible rolling 30-day usage | Eligible-data discount |
|---|---|---|
| Standard | Start automatically | 0% |
| Plus | €50 | 4% off |
| Pro | €150 | 7% off |
| Elite | €350 | 10% off |
For example, at Elite an eligible €10 base data charge becomes €9. The app and dashboard show your current tier, eligible usage and progress toward the next level. A protection period helps prevent an immediate downgrade after a tier is unlocked.
NXTL Rewards: benefits connected to real usage
Automatic usage levels are only one part of NXTL Rewards.
Tokens that return service value
Eligible purchases and top-ups return 5% in reward value. One Token currently redeems for €0.90 of NXTL service credit.
An eligible €20 top-up therefore creates approximately €1 of redeemable service-credit value in Tokens.
Challenges that turn activity into progress
Useful actions can become visible achievements: making a first connection, using a first GB, connecting through another network, using NXTL in another country or maintaining monthly activity.
Badges and collections
Badges recognise milestones and can contribute to active collection benefits. They make account progress visible without replacing the practical savings underneath.
A private-by-default monthly leaderboard
Eligible activity builds a monthly NXTL Score. Your rank remains private by default. Showing a public nickname is optional, and active prize rules are displayed inside Rewards.

Choose Cheapest or Best coverage
Networks in the same country can have different prices and local reach. NXTL now lets you choose the priority that fits the moment.
- Cheapest: prioritise the lower-priced available option when value matters most.
- Best coverage: prioritise the coverage option when connection matters more.
You can change the account preference without buying another eSIM or paying a network-switching fee. The new choice applies on the next network attach.
Not only for airports: keep NXTL ready every day
A reusable balance is valuable because it can wait without a monthly package running down.
Use NXTL while travelling, but also keep it ready for:
- mobile data when home Wi-Fi or your primary carrier fails;
- a spare phone or tablet;
- laptop tethering and work hotspot data;
- family eSIMs managed from one balance;
- compatible eSIM-enabled routers, trackers and connected devices.
Device and network compatibility varies. Check the device before relying on it for a critical connection.
Previous rates: why some customers need an eSIM exchange
If My eSIMs marks a profile as Previous rates, that profile must be exchanged to unlock the new pricing and full Rewards eligibility.
The new benefits use a new network profile and billing path. This is not a cosmetic label change or QR-code refresh, which is why the older profile cannot simply receive the new rates.
- Open My eSIMs.
- Choose Exchange on the profile marked Previous rates.
- Review the exact one-time fee shown before confirmation—expected to be about €2 per eSIM.
- Pay from your NXTL balance or externally where that option is offered.
- Install the replacement using the new activation details. Do not remove a working eSIM before the replacement is ready.
Your account balance remains in your account.
Why is the exchange not free?
Every replacement profile has a real provisioning cost. We made a deliberate decision to show a small one-time reissue fee rather than increase every future GB, add a monthly membership or hide the cost inside an expiring package.
The continuing value is in the service: lower rates, actual-use billing, a reusable balance, automatic discounts, NXTL Rewards and stronger controls.
What changes with London routing?
New-profile traffic uses London as its data entry point. For maps, messaging, browsing and normal app use, the practical difference should usually be small. Actual latency still depends on your location, the local network and the destination service.
What happens to previous-rate profiles?
Older profiles will eventually be discontinued. Affected customers will be notified before an approved service date. We will not ask you to guess when action is required.
We were quieter than the work deserved
NXTL has published less social content than many customers expected. We spent more time implementing features requested by our community than producing a constant stream of advertising.
That explains the quiet period, but it does not excuse weak communication.
If a price or exchange change surprised you, expecting a clearer message first was reasonable. We will communicate the work more consistently while continuing to prioritise practical value: usable data, better control, automatic savings and rewards attached to real activity—not decorative extras most customers never use.
The improvements will continue. More useful features are already planned.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need a new eSIM to receive the new rates?
Only profiles marked Previous rates need to be exchanged. Check the status in My eSIMs.
Does my balance disappear during an exchange?
No. Your account balance remains in your account. The network profile is replaced.
Are the usage discounts automatic?
Yes. When eligible rolling 30-day usage reaches an active threshold, the matching eligible-data discount applies automatically.
Can NXTL be used as a backup connection at home?
Yes, on compatible devices and available networks. NXTL can remain ready for an outage, spare device, hotspot or compatible connected device without buying a monthly travel package.
Is public leaderboard participation required?
No. Rank is private by default and public nickname display is optional.
